San Bernardino District 21's Winter Conference & Visual Arts Show - February 29, 2008

District 21 President, Wendy Jarvis, opens our 2008 Winter Conference.

"Celebrate like it's 20008", the theme for the State's 105th Annual Convention, is announced.

Nanci Austin's Sadie Hawkins Day costume reflects the look for the day.

Joyce Murphy-McCool invites first-timers to come forward and be recognized.

There were 7 ladies that had never been to a CFWC District 21 Conference before.

Joyce gave 6 of them a District lapel pin.

The 7th got a District note pad, with the promise of a pin at a later date.

Explaining Project Prayer Flag to bring the prayers of America to the hearts of our military personnel serving in Iraq & Afghainstan

Time to socialize before lunch.

Lunch, as usual, was delicious

The Visual Arts Show includes both painting ...

... and photography - both film and digital.

Lobo, entered by Ruth Pfiefer of the Yucaipa W.C., won Second Place in the oil portraits catagory.

First place was awarded to Coleen Edmundson of Grand Terrace W.C. for "Still Life".

"The Rocky Mountains" by Pricilla Smega of the Contemporary Club of Redlands.

"Rhododendron - Sping in North Carolina" by Madeline Lasondak, of the Upland Woman's Club, was given an Honorable Mention.

Madeline's "Red Rock - New Mexico" won a Second Place for the Scenic catagory for film cameras.

Mary O'Neil's shot of these darling Mire Cats got lots of Oooh's and aaah's for "Let's Be Friends".

"Bird" by Mary O'Neil got a Participant award.

And her "Spring Splash" won 1st Place in the Natural History - Digital Camera catagory.

Bonnie Hodge submitted "Stormy Sunset" in the Digital Camera - Scenic catagory.

Another entry in the digital camera's Scenic catagory was "Igazu Falls - Argentina" submitted by Mary O'Neil.

Second Place in the digital camera Scenic catagory was given to Bonnie Hodge for "Summer in New England".

Top honors in the digital camera Scenic catagory went to Mary O'Neil of the Upland WC for her terrific picture of the Igazu Falls complex.

Mary O'Neil's "Kayaking" photo garnered her a Participant ribbon in th digital camera Feature catagory.

Bonnie Hodge, of the Rancho Cucamonga WC, took home a Second Place ribbon for "Fiesta".

The Blue Ribbon for 1st Place in the digital camera Feature catagory also went to Bonnie Hodge for "Celebrate" capturing a magical instant on July 4th

BEST OF SHOW!! "Emerald Bay" by Ruby Baker, Grand Terrace W.C. also won First Place in the film camera Scenic catagory.
